RULES
The Antonio Napolitano International Piano Competition - Salerno will be held at the Lloyd’s Baia Hotel, Via De Marinis, 2, Vietri sul Mare, (Salerno), June 28 - 29, 2017.
Both the final round of the Piano competition and the Awards Ceremony concert will be held at Teatro “Giuseppe Verdi” in Salerno, Italy on June 30, 2017.
The Competition is open to candidates of all ages and nationalities.

The Antonio Napolitano Piano Competition: € 110.00
Entry fees include membership in the Salerno CTA (Acli Tourist Centre) Cultural Association.
Art.3
Travel and lodging expenses are the candidate’s responsibility.
Candidates will not be admitted to the competition unless payment and documents have been received in advance.
Candidates who withdraw or are excluded from the competition as a result of application irregularities are not entitled to a refund of the registration fee.

PROGRAMME
THE ANTONIO NAPOLITANO INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION – SALERNO is divided into 3 obligatory stages.
- Preliminary and semi-final round at theLloyd’s Baia Hotel, Vietri sul Mare, (Salerno) Italy, June 28 - 29, 2017.
- Final round at Teatro “Giuseppe Verdi” in Salerno on June 30, 2017.
PRELIMINARY ROUND
Maximum length of the recital: 20 minutes
1) One or more études from among the following:
- F. Chopin (Études Op. 10, Études Op. 25).
2) One or more études from among the following:
- F. Liszt ( Études d'exécution transcendante S. 139 and S. 140, Grandes Études de Paganini S. 141, Études de concert S. 144, Konzertetüden S. 145).
- C. Debussy (Études).
- A. Skrjabin (Études Op. 8, Études Op. 42, Études Op. 65).
- S. Rachmaninov (Études-tableaux Op.33, Études-tableaux Op.39).
3) The first movement of a Sonata by F.J. Haydn, M. Clementi, W. A.Mozart or L. v.Beethoven
Note : In the event that the candidate has not used all of the time available, a piece or more pieces of his/her choice may be performed,provided that the duration of the entire recital does not exceed 20 minutes.

EVALUATION
Art.6
At the end of the preliminary and the semi-final rounds, each member of the Jury will express one of the following judgments: admitted or not admitted.
At the end of the final round, each Jury member will individually rank the competitors, selecting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners. The Jury will then convene and following consultation with the Artistic Director a final decision will be taken.

Daily practice facilities will be provided during the competition period. A practice schedule will be set based on request.

The organization does not assume any responsibility for missed or late-arriving communications to the competitors, nor does it accept responsibility for damages during the competitions. In the event of a dispute as to the interpretation of the rules, a decision will be taken based on the printed Italian version of the Rules and Regulations.

The first, second and third A. Napolitano Piano Competition winners will be announced by the Jury following the finalists’ performances during the awards ceremony at Teatro “Giuseppe Verdi” in Salerno on June 30, 2017.
The winners of the Antonio Napolitano Piano Competititon and the overall winner in all the categories of the Vietri sul Mare-Amalfi Coast Piano competition must play without remuneration at the Awards Ceremony concert at Teatro “Giuseppe Verdi” in Salerno on June 30, 2017.
Non-participation in the awards ceremony or ensuing concert will result in loss of the prize. Prizes will not be sent by mail.
Art. 15
The Court system in the Province of Salerno will have jurisdiction over any legal claims.

for the best Italian student of Music Conservatories, Academy and officially recognized music schools.
Jury Prize : - € 400.00 scholarship kindly donated by the Banca Monte Pruno
All remaining competitors will be given a certificate of Merit and/or Participation
